You Have Something to Give

ACTS 3:6-7 (KJV)

“Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.”

A few weeks after the ascension of Jesus, Peter and John were going into the temple at the hour of prayer when they met a lame man who had been laid at the temple gate everyday. Prior to this time, Peter must have seen the man on at least two occasions whilst Jesus was still physically with them. We can deduce this from the fact that he had gone with Jesus into that temple. However, Peter didn’t walk past the impotent man this time! Rather, he said to him, “Look on us” (Acts 3:4). The man gave them his attention, expecting to receive alms, but Peter didn’t have any money on him at the time.

Notice that Peter didn’t say, “Such as God has, give I thee.” He said, “such as I have, give I thee...” Clearly, Peter knew that he had something to give the man! That’s why he then said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” He made a demand on the name of Jesus and a miracle took place immediately. Peter knew he had the name of Jesus and that he had eternal life which he could transmit into the man’s body.

You can bless the world with the name of Jesus and the life of God in you. Just boldly make a demand on that name to cause miracles to take place. Your hands are not empty, they are divine instruments (Mark 16:17-18) through which eternal life flows.
